Well yesterday I went to a plant sale at the site where they have the Farmer's market. I think it was the first time they were open this year. Good to start with a plant sale as crops are just getting started. Other than strawberries, which are usually ripe here mid May or before. Anyway, I got a soil test kit, but I could already tell you what kind of soil have. I already know what kind of soil I have really..crap..lol, mostly clay with a bit of sand mixed in, but it should tell me specific elements in the soil, which might help pick out some plants. I did end up getting some dill and catnip. That's one for Nico, and I did treat myself to fancy gardening tools, later on in my ventures. Do you garden?

Some strawberries are already ripe in the gardens here, but most of them will be ripe by mid-May. I also found crap soil in our garden in Switzerland, we had the vegetable area dug out and we bought better soil for the vegetables. I enjoyed gardening.

I want to try some pepper plants this year. I have given up on tomatoes. They should be easy to grow but never really work out here. I was very careful last year and took good care of the plants..and I still only got a few like cherry tomatoes, and they weren't cherry tomato plants! I think I have a wild pumpkin vine springing up. I would like to nuture that. It would be a lot of fun to have a pumpkin. It popped up one other time, but the heat got to it.

@snowy22315 - I was very successful with tomatoes and also with pepper plants. I only had a few pumpkins, but they were good. I stopped planting cucumbers because I had so many that I always had to throw.

Not actively into gardening.
We have some plants in balcony which we try to maintain.
I have tried sometimes wrt Composting and changing soil in plants.
Not much otherwise.

No, it isn’t practical or really feasible for me. I just admire what Diana does through all those windows. Because if I step into the backyard my allergies go nuts. Therefore, I admire through the windows.
I hope you’re able to get some things grown.

I hope so. It can get discouraging. I have been able to grow in other places though.

A few strawberries have come in already at the produce auction. They have to be growing them in a greenhouse this early

Yes, especially with how cold it has been. I know one year it was so wet all the strawberries rotted, you sure can't say that about this year.

I still miss my bigger garden--by some standards, it wasn't big but I did grow a lot of vegetables. Mine is a lot smaller now, but I cram in everything I can without getting too crazy about it. That's a good idea, to test your soil. I still have my old garden tools. My garden hoe is so old, it was my grandparent's.

I'd like to find somebody affordable to plant some flowers in my back patio area. We had a guy last year that was supposed to do it but he never showed up. Hubby and I can't bend over that much.

Can't you have a trainer at the gym help you with that? I think gardening would be therapeutic for you

I no longer garden, but used to have a huge garden years ago when we had such a nice big yard.
I grew up on a clay farm, and when my husband and I moved out to the country, we were on the other side of the river from where I grew up, and that was beautiful dark soil. You could easily grow just about anything, and we did.
Now we tend to go to the farmer's markets to purchase our fruits and veggies, it works for us at this stage in our lives.

Wow it's May the third already
Isn't May passing really quickly already?
Crap soil lol
Clay and sand, get some horse dung and dig it in
That will improve the quality a bit
Catnip is cool
Our cats loved it
They quite liked weed as well funnily enough
Oh yes
I garden
A lot
One post recently has about 10 pictures from our garden posted on it
