I just saw this small bird not much bigger than a sparrow bouncing off the window, it wasn't hard. he didn't get hurt. I just don't know what he or she was doing. There lines on the window, it is subdivided into squares so it isn't like he was mistaking i tas open space. The only thing I can think of was that maybe he was trying to perch on the window..at the bottom, but there really isn't a ledge there again, it is a flush with the outside wall. Hmm, silly bird. It is normally the squirrels that do silly stuff..but I guess they don't have a monopoly. Any silly animal behavior in your world?

Any silly animal behavior in your world? None that I can think of It's strange but this town seems devoid of much in the way of wildlife apart from birds

I saw another fox again yesterday, but it was down at the exit of the development about a mile from here

@Ineeddentures I was really surprised when I saw the one down by the mailbox. It was a gray fox. The one I saw today was a red one though.

Not recently. We did have that one goose who insisted on living on the corner by the stop sign. I haven’t seen it there since last week’s bad storm. There is now another mama goose who has a nest out by the gazebo that’s next to the pond. People walk past her all the time but it doesn’t seem to bother her at all.

@snowy22315 Yes, they can. For the most part, the ones here are so used to cars and people they just take their sweet time to move out of the way.

We had a little bird knock himself out on a window. I left on some rags in a container and when I looked out later he had gone.

We had a cardinal that did that. He thought he saw an interloper in the reflection. During mating and nesting times they are very protective of their areas. Maybe that's what was happening.

Hmm, maybe. He never tried to attack the reflection. I was wondering if he was admiring himself? Of course most animals don't know what mirrors are..but some birds can be pretty smart.

Is it possible he sees his reflection in the glass and is trying to defend his territory? We were talking with someone at noon who had blue jays doing this at her home.

Maybe, there has to be some explanation. I used to have a feeder with a reflective surface..and one of the birds used to stand there every day and look at the reflection. It was pretty cute really.

I like seeing the squirrels exhaust themselves and just poop out, tummy first. It tickles me.

They can be funny. When they are too hot they will spread eagle on their tummy on the deck rail. I will have to remember to put water out.

may be the bird's eyes cannot make out a real cover or open space. In my balcony doves and sparrows come everyday, but they comes for bird feed and dont do any silly work
