Happy Monday Everyone! it's a nice sunny morning here and the temperatures will be in the 60s (fingers crossed)
The weekend was busy as we had our community garage/yard sale. At first I had decided not to participate but when the truck failed to show up for our donations pick-up I figured it was a good chance to try and sell some of the stuff I was willing to donate.
As much as I hate the inconvenience of having to do a garage/yard sale quite a few people showed up.
Most everything I put out for sale sold and the few things that didn't will go back for donation..
Even though it wasn't a whole lot of money, it was worth the two days of my time.
The weather was pretty decent so I'm sure that played a part in the good number of people who showed.
Today life is back to normal. Usual things to do around the house plus I need to finish my book. I have about 5 new books that I want to get to but I have to finish this one first.
I'm definitely living that phrase....too many books, so little time
How about you? Do you have too many of something and not enough time??

@Marilynda1225 I would honestly love that too. A nice little bookstore. That would be amazing.

I think if I could go back in time I would have loved to have owned a quaint bookstore.

I’m so glad you made some money! I wonder when my dad’s community garage sale is. Not that he’ll let me have one.
I really want people to go through my apartment and make me an offer on anything they see.
I’d say, Marilyn goes first! What she wants, she gets!

it was worth the time to do the garage sale and I purposely didn't go around to see what any of my neighbors were selling, I wanted to make sure my cash stayed in my pocket

@Marilynda1225 Good for you! I wouldn't be able to risk wandering around and looking at all the bargains though.

@snowy22315 I had to keep myself for wandering around. Thankfully no one near me had anything interesting so it was less tempting.

How nice that the sale went so well. I have a lot of movies to watch. I'm a Television addict. After I get my usual stuff done each day, I sit down for a few series or movies. to watch.
I hope the end of your book is good and that the next one is interesting.

Hope you're enjoying your movies. Certainly sounds like a nice way to relax.
I'm a tv addict too and always have more shows on my "to watch" list than I get around to watching

Good job with the garbage sale. I'm glad you made some good money.
We're at 71F this morning here and it looks beautiful outside. Sunny and calm right now but we're expecting thunderstorms again late this afternoon/overnight and on through Wednesday morning.
I need to get up, get a shower and call the garage to come jumpstart my car. I have several errands to run and would like to stop by the Chinese place here in town for late lunch/supper tonight.
I hope you enjoy your day.

I am happy for you that you were able to sell your items, that money will come in handy.
I have far too many clothes.
I do not tend to use the consignment stores to sell them because they are targeted to a much younger crowd, and my stuff doesn't appeal to the people taking the items in.
I usually just take those items to Value Village, they sell them there after I donate them.
Loving the nice sunshine today though, it is beautiful.

I do the same with my clothes. I just sent off some from my working days that were still in good condition. Too fuddy duddy for a consignment shop.
It was nice to have a little bit of extra cash from selling some stuff this weekend.

it was certainly unexpected money since I was going to send most of it to donation.

I’m pleased that the sale went well, even if it wasn’t exactly planned.
I guess for me it’s too many biscuits ….not enough time , I don’t eat that many biscuits , yet , people are constantly giving me huge boxes of them !

I'm glad your sale was a success. We always found it to be a lot of work with little return. I have a bookcase full of books I'd like to read; but the print is so small it bothers my eyes.

I wasn't going to participate in the garage/yard sale as it really is a lot of work for little money. But I had a few things I thought would sell so I gave it a try and although I didn't make a lot of money it was nice to have some extra cash in my wallet.
I have a magnetic sheet that I can put over the pages in my book when the print is too small. I think I got it on Amazon. Lately, though, when I get a new book I download it on my Kindle. It's perfect because I can adjust the font and it has a light which makes reading so much easier. I do miss my "real" books but I'm glad for the option of downloading.

@Marilynda1225 Maybe I will try the magnetic sheet. I really prefer a real book.

I love a good yard sale! I'm glad you made yourself a little money. That's definitely something that'll make your day. Or at least it does it for me.
Speaking of books, my sister put me onto a site that is awesome. Its called oceanofpdfs. If you like books and can read online I would definitely recommend it.
