Not getting a coffee lid in McCafe from the employee

Is it the same in your corner of the world?
I went to order matcha latte which was in my colour,green. Also, it looked great and seems it was a new thing on their menu. I like green tea so i wanted to try it out.
I mostly ordered food in the past at McDonald's and this wasn't offered on a regular screen for ordering so i proceeded to McCafe section. Employee barely said hello,which was a reminder from the past but when he gave me my drink,for out and i said where is the coffee lid, he pointed me to the side,where i can put my own coffee lid and a straw too.
Again,i didn't order drinks for a long time but for a price of almost 3euros,why can't they put a coffee lid,as a part of the service?
This practice amazes me sometimes. At McDonald's,they don't put it and at a regular cafe,they put it. Hm.
P.s. an online photo. Mine was a paper coffee lid.

I said could they put something and the staff directed me to the side where lids were.i was so confused.there were little ones too.i can take the straw on my own but this,i thought that's the part of the service.and the same staff almost kept my receipt and i told them sorry,i'm taking the bill and the guy just wished me a good day but in insincere way.and i ordered iced matcha so i really thought i would get the lid.

i wish it was a self-service cause, half of it, it is. also, i ordered iced matcha latte, sugar was included so, yes, i thought i only need to take a straw but, it seems, a lid too.

I think I read somewhere that they want you to put your own lid on so that if it comes off and it spills or burns you it is your fault not theirs.

Oh dear …..I don’t go to McDonald’s very often, and it’s usually the drive thru with the Grandkids and they have milkshakes, and a lid is always put on. May be different if you are in store…….but in all honesty , it wouldn’t take a lot of effort to put a lid on would it ….you would think the staff could manage that.

Yeah,precisely that.i was confused to see 2kind of lids,small ones and bigger ones and i barely managed that.this was iced matcha latte,suger was added and me asking can he put something was like begging him.i mean.and then wishing me a good day in a fake voice.come on.
latte was good,only that.service,barely greeting me,almost keeping my receipt actually me,taking it,wasn't good at all.

I don't go to McDonald's but they usually give lids, mostly because they got tired of being sued. Same reason why they put Caution Hot on it as well. Common sense is a flower that doesn't grow in everyone's garden.

That's a good thinking and i wish they act the same in every country.i ordered iced matcha latte and i was really convinced that lid will be waiting for me.also,the guy almost kept my receipt.i took it and said sorry,i'm taking this.really.if they act like this all the time,i better not go there just,it was a good latte.

I asked can they put something and i was directed to take it on my own.i think i made a request.considering this was an iced drink,i mean,i don't get it.i wish i could serve myself cause this was barely a service,to me.

I would have expected a lid too but nothing ever seems to go the way we expect. Hope you enjoyed your matcha latte

I am a tea person but this looked really good and i bought iced matcha latte so i thought getting the lid is a part of the service considering,barely greeting me,not asking me if i have a rewards app isn't part of the service.and he almost kept my receipt or bill after that.i hate when they do that and i said sorry,i'm going to need this and he wished me a good day but in a forced voice.i replied you too.i wish i could have served myself.it was a good latte though but i think i can buy it in a asian store so goodbye mcdonald's.

I kind of asked him,the staff,,can you put something and they just pointed to me where lids are.i ordered iced latte and was surprised in a bad way that they barely greeted me,charged me,sip something in a cup and made me to find a proper lid and a straw and also wishing me a good day after that.i really dislike people being fake.i wish i served myself. Thank you for noticing this was absurd.
