My success of the day

Today I got someone to come in and mow my huge back yard. He did a lot of clean up as well.
I was surprised. He did it with a push mower. I should not have been surprised. I used to do it that way, but never when it was this tall.
Tomorrow he will come take away some scrap metal and the old hot water heater. It does my heart good to have this done.
Some books came in for Bob at the Newton Library AND my newly repaired glasses and my brand new glasses came in as well. Also in Newton. Now I have glasses, and spares too. I can read and enjoy my books.
Be happy for me. I certainly am.

It was good. I found that my neighbors must have taken out this huge fallen tree that has been in the back ever since we moved here.

We were really happy when the older neighbor started mowing our back yard for us. 2 acres is too much to do with a push mower. And, really, $30 a mow for front and back yards isn't a bad price to pay.
I'm very happy for you! I had a heck of a time getting the front and side yards mowed last year. I had to stop and sit for a while after getting half the front mowed and then making Pretty go out to mow the sides and the rest of the front was really bad. She doesn't even like going outside for any reason let alone to do some kind of work.

I like mowing, but have been just really bogged down by medical details.

@GardenGerty I don't mind mowing but just can't do it anymore. Pretty is afraid I'll fall and drag the running mower back over myself.

I know you know what it is like finding competent, trustworthy workers for stuff you cannot do yourself.

I’m glad to hear you had someone help you with the yard. And any time to enjoy books is a good time in my opinion!

I have hardly read anything for years. Reading used to be my big vice. I am slowing down and enjoying more now.

I've always loved reading. My entire family were all big readers. But it's good that you are enjoying slowing down a bit, Heather. I don't stress over the same things I used to--I just do the best I can.

I like to do the front. and side. I made myself sick the summer of 2022 with heat exhaustion and have not been able to complete the back since then.

@GardenGerty It will take a while to get into a new routine I guess. Hopefully your days will get easier over the next few weeks.

That's awesome about getting your lawn cleaned and cleared away.
It's also great about having your glasses fixed and having a spare ( haha, I can't say spare without thinking of Prince Harry ). I have several, several pair of glasses. I think it's close to 5 or 6 pair. I'm very prone to losing them so I keep them at various places in my home.

Mine are always on my face unless I am asleep. I cannot function without them. I had several old pairs but the correction was not good.
