What Do You Do?

Most of us alot of photos on our smartphones. Afterall, they seem to be the 'new' cameras that most of us own these days. I am not alot different. But the trip that we took out to Victoria, BC last month has made me think. My husband and I planned on making up a little photo album for Harper and Willow. We went in search of that today. With most of us keeping our photos digitally, there is hardly a need as it would seem, to stock and sell photo albums. We tried a couple of places and then I suggested that we try Home Sense. Bingo, we found 2 lovely nice sized ones there. And they are both a light brown textured leather, even better, since the girls won't fight over them. I want to make up a little shadow box, one for me and one for them. I saw some there, and will go back when my tummy isn't rumbling because it is lunchtime, which is what happened today. What do you do with your many photos these days? ~Photo is just on the edge of downtown London, Ontario

I store them in my phone. When I get a new one they are transferred.

I do as well, but for the children I wanted hard copies. Just as I read this I hear the rumblings of thunder......our first one of late spring.

@snowy22315 We actually got a tornado warning out of the storm. But it was just a warning, and it never materialized here, thankfully.

I always transfer the photos stored in my phone to the hard disk of my computer and I back up the hard disk. I print some of the photos because I also created an album where I keep the photos I like more.

Media storage changes too, as I found out over the years. I will be happy to put these albums together, and there will be room for more trips that they take to add to this book.

@Juliaacv - Yes, media storage changes, but at least I can still read the hard disk I used with my 16 years old computer, but no more the tiny hard disk that the first digital Canon camera used. I am glad I printed those I liked more.

You can now buy a picture frame that sends photos and you can program it many different ways. I sort and take out the ones I didn't like. I don't keep a lot of them. If I do I keep them on a thumb drive. I sure will not pay for the cloud.

No, I do not pay for the cloud either. I have a digital picture frame. But to hold a book and turn the pages of photos is something special that I want for the girls.

I send photos to myself and store in subfolders in my email. Some, I make into photo books. I won't keep more than 200 on my phone.

I store alot of mine on my computer, but there are times when I actually want to extract a photo to have a hard copy to frame.

At the 80th celebration last night, our friend had a heap of photo albums all arranged by subject including many of the trips they've done. It was fun to look through them.

That is what I am starting for the girls. Their parents enjoy travelling, and they have already spoken about different provinces within Canada that they'd like to visit, as well as other countries.

I still like the old ways. Develop photos, now it can be printed easily but I honestly can't find time to make copies yet. I always said, later until my phone storage is almost get full of different kind of photos.

Mine just stay on my phone for the most part. I did want a couple of pictures used as gifts a few years ago, and sent them to an IT friend of mine who printed them on the appropriate “paper”. One was of Amyra as a baby with her head pressed against Mindy’s shoulder, and the other was of my brother-in-law’s late dog. I do love the picture you included here, and I think the girls are really going to like physically seeing and holding the photo books.

Those sound like nice personalized gifts. My husband will upload the photos to a photography place and they will print them off and he will just pick them up and then we can get to work on the books. They will take many more trips, to other provinces, and they can fill the books with photos from those trips.

I still have lots of film from decades ago which I took with either a Nikon or Kodak camera and now I have lots of digital photos. Since I don't have kids or family anymore I have no one to give physical photos to I simply keep them on my PC. I am possitive the girls will treasure those albums you're making for them.

It really is ideal to store them digitally if you have a small space, or like you said, no family, except for the critters.

I am the same, but I have printed off a few pictures over the years and enlarged them to frame. I find that the pictures that we take on our phones, do not have the depth and detail that those taken on a good camera have.
