My sister, her husband, and the kids set out for Topeka, Kansas today for a school road trip. One of the places they visited was the Brown vs. Board of Education National Historical Park. They visited the museum, but I really like the mural they shot a picture of that was also there. I don’t know why, but I didn’t used to think a lot of murals, but now I love them. Probably a kid thing.
Are you much of a mural person?
(Brown vs Board of Education decision struck down segregation in public schools here.)

I do like murals. That is a beautiful picture of one. I saw a nice one last year in Point Pleasant West Virginia.

There is a great mural there in OKC, with all kinds of pictures of famous people born in Oklahoma, and not so famous. My dad is depicted twice in it, because a lady from their church was helping create it. One pictures him as a young Boy Scout. If you have not had a chance to see it, I hope you do some time. I am not sure exactly where it is. Murals are great both for decoration and to tell stories. Cool field trip for the kiddos.
