Should hotdogs be classified as sandwich?

I recently came across an argument where some persons believe hotdogs is simply a sandwich and their defence was anything wrapped between two bread is basically a sandwich irrespective of the shape or size, and in a way it makes some sense, but there where others who claimed it's not but still couldn't classify where it should fall into. So what's your take mylot, are hotdogs simply sandwich?

they can't be sandwiches. it's a sausage in a bun.

If it is in-between bread, then it is a sandwich.

hotdogs are hotdogs, it becomes a sandwhich if you eat with bread or place it inside a loaf or bun or something

@eLdav1s it depends, i have loaf bread and put hotdogs there especially if we have alot of left over hotdogs
