We helped build a shed

We’ve been away overnight. We stayed with my brother-in-law and helped him build a garden shed. We are all into DIY (do it yourself) projects and welcomed the chance to help with the shed. We've helped each other out many times over the years. He’s had the shed in a flatpack for well over twelve months so it was good to help him erect it. He’d already levelled and paved a base for it. We got there around 10am on Wednesday and by around 5pm, we had the walls up and only the roof to go. We finished the roof this morning and I then helped him prune some of his roses. The photo shows the shed site on the left and the finished shed on the right. You can just see the door handle at Vince’s elbow. The roof is a very shallow gable. We enjoyed a delicious dinner there with my BIL and our niece and were up at a reasonable hour and back outside doing the roof around 9am as we thought it was going to rain later.

Great job on the shed!! I'm sure your BIL appreciated the help and that you were able to stay over and squeeze in a visit as well.

I have seen the neighbors building one, more or less the same size, and it took a while to build. I am sure your brother in law appreciated your help.

You did a great job, and I'm sure you were pleased to be able to help (as well as to see them all of course and have a lovely dinner!)

You guys are incredibly handy! You remind me of my dad in that you ask him to help with something, and you’re always knowledgeable enough to do it. The shed looks great! Now, get to posting more discussions girl! I need more!

That's nice, to help each other out and to get to spend time together. Plus work often goes so much faster with an extra pair of hands or two! Good job all around!
