I found this video by accident and it made me cry, did I tell you that I rarely cry? I was lucky, dad made through WWII and Korea but I have to wonder how many friends he lost over there. Dad never talked about the war, well, not to us kids anyway. Everything we heard about came through whatever ma would tell us but I doubt he told it all to her. This video is worth watching but a fair warning that the actors were genuine and the message will go straight to your heart. I hope you know someone who tells stories about those brave fallen heroes so they won't be forgotten

My oldest brother made it alive from Viet Nam. Parts of him were gone or injured but he made it home to us. When he got to be just barely a senior Agent Orange felled him.

I'm so sorry. So many veterans don't die immediately but end up earlier than they should due to the different problems encountered while in a war, my dad was gone before his 60th bd due to many different things that the experiences he went through while in WWII and Korea. So many have falled that same way, I always think of them as one who gave it all so we could be free, what little was left of their lives wasn't easy or healthy.

@rebelann I agree with what you say. My brother worked hard all his life though he lost an eye in the war. Then he got to his late 60's and Agent Orange landed a brain tumor on him.

I knew several young men who made it through their stent in Vietnam. My dad was in the Navy during WWII, and my grandfather was in the Army in WWI. I wish I could get to the cemetery but no way to go. It's a sad thing-- war, but I'm glad we have Memorial Day to remember and honor them.

I was a member of the honor guard when I was stationed in Jacksonville. This has always been a deeply touching holiday for me.

Wars are never good and should never be glorified.
