A strange sort of day here.

Sometimes, it happens. The day you plan isn't the day you end up having, and that's what happened to me and to the son today. He had an appointment that escalated into a procedure of sorts. I will spare the details, but he had to be sedated and when all was said and done and I got the OK to take him home at last, he was definitely what I would have to term ''loopy!'' Due to traffic and our endless interstate road construction, it was nearly an hour to get home. He fell asleep in the car...and I didn't think I was ever going to get him awake enough to get him in the house, but I finally managed that. He came in, drank a huge glass of water, remarked that he thought he would rest for ''maybe an hour.''....and that was over 3 hours ago. I tried to wake him but he just wants to rest. I am just hoping since he's had this huge nap he doesn't stay up half the night, but if he does, I guess we will manage. The next few days will hopefully be calm, quiet, and uneventful. We need that. And I have plenty of projects I can do to keep myself occupied if he wants extra time to rest. That's my life--isn't it exciting? Baby steps to wellness for him, and we will definitely take that! I got busy while he was resting, and did some deep cleaning in the kitchen. Swept the front porch and the sidewalk (geese, ya know!) and did some laundry. And I tried very hard to be quiet...it must have worked because he rested without waking.
