Well the good news is the ice maker appears to be working again

It hasn't made a ton of ice but I heard a few cubes drop. I had to clean out the top shelf of the freezer and reboot the freezer fridge. The front water tap isn't working, but I don't use it anyway. I know it would be expensive, but I half hope the fridge would die so I could get a new one Do you like your fridge? I want a fridge freezer combo with the drawer on the bottom.

The one I have is about 15 years old. The range is super old I have had it over 20 years. Wash dryer, and DW have all been replaced fairly recently.

@snowy22315 Washer was replaced a few years ago. Fridge is over 20 for sure. Stove is around 10

I really do not like my fridge..but at least I got the ice maker working again. I think thee fridge will be the next appliance replaced. I saw some not terribly bad prices on them.

I don’t really have any complaints about my refrigerator/freezer. It’s just a cheap one, but it’s probably just five years old. Of course, it would be nice if my medicine were still in my fridge, but those people (who I will see tomorrow) threw it away as well as my good food. Why would they throw away perfectly good food? One wonders…

Yes, I think you need to refuse any housecleaning offers in the future unless you get to vet them yourself and lay down boundaries. What had happened to you is unreal. I also feel bad for you dad as he must be so frustrated and disappointed.

New appliances have really gone up in price. If it were me, I would use the old one until it completely croaked, but that's just me. I do like the freezer on the bottom. It never made sense to me that it is on the top.
My favorite refrigerator was one we had that was ALL refrigerator, and no freezer. It made perfect sense. We had an under the counter ice maker for ice at the time, and the freezer was in the utility room off the kitchen. I had a big family, and we truly did need the extra refrigerator room back then. I still miss that refrigerator!

I used to have a small secondary freezer, but it went bad after a year or two..probably just after the warranty ran out..
It was nice while it lasted though. Sometimes you can find them on Craigslist. Sometime if son is coming down I could see if he would be willing to pick one up. IF he had to drive too far he wouldn't do it though.

I have both a fridge freezer combo & a full stand up freezer
& I keep both mine full of meats Veggies & my O sugar drinks
& crushed ice too.

I want a "French Door" fridge, with the bottom freezer. I do not want water or ice in the door because "hard water". Shall we wish this for you? A new refrigerator just like you want?

@LadyDuck This one I have now is a side by side with the freezer on the side. The space is oddly configured and the shelves are too small. YOu can't even lay a pizza box flat in there.

@snowy22315 The freezer is on the bottom. I do not believe we have anymore combo that have the freezer drawer on the top.

I really don't like the freezer space in mine because it is oddly configured due to the water tap..also the front grill keeps coming off for unknown reasons. Plus, it just isn't very well made, but I will say this, it has lasted quite awhile...
