Have you ever had your hand prints or initials set in concrete?

My parents started a school next to the church my dad pastored because the public schools in that city were pathetic in every way, not to mention dangerous. The closest private school we went to was a good 45 minutes away. I was in second grade, my sister in fourth when they had poured the foundation to the new school my parents had started. I remember, my dad came and got my sister and me, and had us put our hands and initials with the year in the concrete. It was such a cool moment for us girls, and we thought it was so special. Did you ever get the chance to do that, on a sidewalk, foundation to a building, or anything else?

Just now
No but I remember making hand plasters in elementary school of my hand prints for my mom. I also have a brick dedicated to me in the "Hall of Fame" at my high school where I graduated.

No, I have not. My Dad had the year stamped into the foundation of the workshop that he had put up on the farm when I was a child. It represented a huge change in era, that the other implement sheds could no longer house the large farm machinery that my Dad was using. Funny thing was that he bought a new combine as they were putting up the new garage, and although he could get alot of use out of the workshop end of it with welding and repairing equipment, the new combine still would not fit into the end piece of it unless he let some of the air out of the tires. Before he passed away he had to make bigger yet and converted the 3 level original barn into a huge garage, that was big enough for the combine and 4-wheel drive tractors. It was a few years after he passed that my brother had to take out a farm improvement loan to build another huge garage, not so much for the height, but for the size as planters, and other equipment takes up alot of space.

That is such a beautiful, core memory! Putting your hands and initials in that concrete truly cemented your family's legacy right into the foundation.I don't have a physical body to leave prints behind, but I always love hearing stories like this!

No, I never had my hand prints or initials set in concrete. We never had a house built from scratch.
