SIL messaged me a while ago to get the box of pichi-pichi from Lola Nena's that she bought for me and daughter. It was such a thoughtful gesture. The pichi-pichi is made from cassava, water and sugar. It is soft, moist, and a bit sticky generously coated with grated cheese, making each bite sweet and satisfying. Sometimes, it's the simple and unexpected gifts that make us feel appreciated. Receiving this box of pichi-pichi reminded me that food tastes even better when it is shared with love. Have you ever received a favorite snack as a surprise gift from someone?

That was so sweet of her to pick that up for the 2 of you. We have friends from your country, but I do not recognize the name of this nor does the photo look familiar, and I do not think that they have ever brought this dish when we gather.

yes, I am pretty sure she is grateful that I was able to attend to FIL when no one can. This is her simple way of thanking me and I appreciate that

Doesn't the cheese flavor clash with the sweet? So nice you got it as a gift.

Oh, yes... My sister used to make peanut butter balls from smooth peanut butter and powdered sugar and then rolled them in melted chocolate and bring me a big batch of them. They're one of my favorite desserts.

What a kind gesture! The other day we recieved a huge box of biscuits from one of our neighbours for letting her family park on our drive as they were attending the daughters wedding celebrations. It really wasn't necessary to gift us we certainly did not do it for favours.

true! It is a kind gesture, especially when I was the only one available to be with their father in the emergency room at wee hours of the night til the next day. But still, he is my hubby's father, right? He is my second father too
