The first visit with the medical gurus and their huge, expensive machines sent quite the bill to the insurance and Medicare entities. Just over seventeen hundred dollars. Just over 240.00 is allowed by the Higher Ups. It looks like- looks like- right now- I owe them zero.
This latest visit with the biopsy must have been tons higher for a bill.
Tuesday or Wednesday I get the probable news. I just hope the lymph node is merely swollen. And silly me thought it was plumpness.
Photo should show the flowers in the back bathtub garden. It stopped raining enough that I went on a small property snoopy walk. It is damp enough that there is no way I can mow any weed or grass, no matter how tall those may be. Yee haw!!

@Ineeddentures Yes Americans have insurance. Older folks have Medicare and like hubby and me, a combo of Medicare and an insurance company. This means that we pay- a total of about 500.00 each month. That is taken out of our social security checks- that's Medicare. Insurance company so far does not take a chunk. The insurance plan pays for our gym membership and that saves us about 50.00 per month. (I need that gym pool!!!) Folks with less money use Medicaid for insurance. AND some docs don't always take Medicaid. And for companion animals: the cost is the cost. There usually is no mercy there.

@Ineeddentures That's bad re the animals. I can understand treatment being too expensive but it's pretty inhumane if they won't put down sick pets.

It looks very festive. If you have any trouble with Medicare, there are Medicare advocates that can help with your bill..and also Vicap which can help.

@sallypup Anyway, found out Vicap is just for Virginia should have known..but a consumer advocate program for your state may help, but great to know everything is being managed right now!

I love your bathtub garden, Lenore. Unique and so pretty!!
Medical charges are so ridiculous. I dealt with yet another prescription for the son that insurance didn’t cover and the doctor said there was not really an alternative to it. This gets so frustrating at times. I discovered recently that using GoodRx is not always the best way to reduce the bill—I do have what CVS calls Extra.Care, which I have. It reduces it a lot more and I was so glad.
I know you are stressing over all of this and it’s very hard.

@MarieCoyle Once I get the news and it isn't good, then probably it will be another week or so that the specimens will be sent to another lab. I think I will attempt to get the next doctor's appointment set up at that point because it takes so long to get an appointment. I hope that makes sense. Not to be morbid but this issue could be ummmm growing

Medical issues can get so complicated. It's like they try to wear us down with delays...and that frustrates us to no end!

I'm glad the cost so far is zero for you...
Just swollen would be a relief. Keeping you in my thoughts.
