Prices automatically changed

I never re-uploaded the book files for my four books so the prices for my books have automatically been changed. They are priced much higher now which I don’t like. And weirdly enough those book projects are not in draft status anymore. I wonder if I will be allowed to change the prices now. I definitely want them priced less. But I also wonder if I attempt to do that if the book projects will go back to draft status. I really don’t want that to happen. Perhaps at some point, I should attempt to re-upload all the book files, but I don’t like the idea of having to buy proof copies again. And I’m also worried that something will go wrong and I won’t be able to publish the books and approve them for distribution. While publishing books yourself is great it’s not so great when you have issues to deal with and you are the one that has to fix them. Especially when you don’t know how to do it or if you’re doing it correctly.

I only have one copy of each of my books. The books are print on demand which means it is printed only when ordered.

Yeah, that can be a real pain. I don't know anything about publishing, but I get the same anxiety when I'm doing something and I'm not sure if I'm doing something right.

Maybe there's a blog or place where others go to discuss their work and they could help you. I looked and I found this:

I know some people that also self published, but they do it through Amazon’s KDP as opposed to Lulu, so they can’t really help me.

It sounds like before you do anything, you should find someone who knows all about this and can advise you.

It is. I tried editing the manuscript for the first book. I was going to try to re-upload it but then I gave up. I’m worried that I will have trouble with the cover and there may be issues with the manuscript and I just didn’t wanna take that chance.

that's one of the issues you face when you do the publishing yourself. I recently wrote a book and I'm looking for a publisher and I know it's gonna cost me a lot of money. I just hope it's worth it

I am not sure what country you’re from, but in the US a traditional publisher doesn’t ask you for money to publish your book. If anything they give you an advance. Now, if you want to publish a book yourself but you need help with that and you hire someone to help you, obviously you will need to pay because they will not do it for free. But if you’re dealing with vanity publishers they will ask you to pay a lot of money to publish the book for you. And there’s a chance that you will get scammed.

@Wrexxo I would stay away from them. Have you ever thought of publishing the book yourself?

I'd say, just leave things as they are. Ultimately, the books will be priced according to the cost of producing them. You can't really control that part.

When I first started publishing my books I had no idea how to do it so page numbers and headers are not displayed in certain pages like the copyright page, etc. I have page numbers and headers on pages where they should not be. I thought I would fix that now and also fix some typos that exist. That’s why I wanted to edit the manuscripts and resubmit them since it said the books were in draft and because I was told I need to do that to be able to change the prices. I started editing the manuscript for the first book and fixed the typos and the page numbering and header formatting but I wasn’t sure if the border I have around the header and footer is formatted properly in terms of margins so I never re-uploaded the manuscript. And I’m also worried that when it comes to the cover that perhaps they’ll make me re-create it from scratch again which I don’t know if I’ll be able to pull off. That’s why I decided not to reupload anything. But now the page numbering and header still remain in the book on pages where they shouldn’t be and the book still has some typos.
