One week until Sir Paul’s big day. He’ll be 84! I’m significantly younger, but after you start getting Medicare 84 doesn’t look that old.
You’re getting a varied look at his long and varied career, and that continues today with a trip to that band he was in before his duets with Michael Jackson.
Letting Go (Wings)
This closes out side one of Venus and Mars, not that I had the album or anything.
I love the opening three seconds of this, with the first guitar riff and the bass and drum setting you up for a rocking good time. And they don’t disappoint, mixing horns and a Jimmy McCulloch guitar solo that takes you through rock and blues.
You’ll see more songs from side one of this album later. Right now, enjoy this one.

@Wrexxo — he also did a duet with Stevie Wonder, “Ebony and Ivory.”

Howz bout that, I like this one. Whats really interesting is how in the live version you can hear a bit of his British accent.

You can’t wish they were all instrumentals.
Yeah, I love the live version from Wings Over America, too.

Well dang @FourWalls I've been thinkin bout this fer about 10 seconds and it seems you're right ..... but, in my defense, many songs just don't have good lyrics

84 really does not sound nearly as old once you start looking at Medicare age differently ?? And honestly, it is pretty amazing that Sir Paul McCartney is still such a presence after all these decades.
