I hear chickens. I am happy.

Over the past two weeks or so I have heard chickens making their chicken noises across the bike path from where I live. I like it. Chickens make me happy. Some neighbor must have scored some chickens. But I bet it won't take long for some other neighbor to complain. I have no idea what the regulations are out here (California suburbia), But I rarely hear chickens. I have NOT heard a rooster crowing the coming dawn. That was a part of my experience when I lived in Isla Vista while attending UCSB. Are there chickens where you live?

There are chickens and two roosters not far from where we live. It's a very small town and it's not forbidden to keep chickens if you have a large garden.

similar thing happened here before. Someone rented a small vacant lot on our street, they housed chickens and roosters. The neighbors complained to the association, viola, they were evicted

I think people can have chickens here but in some areas roosters are banned.

Now that I’m living in the city, I rarely hear them anymore. Do I miss that sound? Not really, since I used to hear them all the time back where I grew up, and they became just part of the background—something I neither appreciated nor disliked. They were simply natural, and I paid them no mind on a daily basis.

Chickens wouldn’t bother me at all. I’d just thank the Lord I didn’t have to deal with some rooster, like you mentioned. We had friends who lived in the suburbs with my parents about four miles away, and they had two chickens. I don’t think anyone ever complained. I love chickens.

Chickens aren’t allowed in my little town, but I used to hear a rooster years ago. Perhaps that’s why they are banned.

No chickens but lots of other birds, such as cardinals and robins and I think I saw a bluejay yesterday. There are others that I can't recognise... wrens and swallows maybe. There's a mourning dove visiting this week.

My SIL has a flock of chickens but the city made her get rid of the roosters. Chickens can cluck but if one crows, that one has to go somewhere outside the city limits. When she first started raising chickens, all her neighbors started complaining so the city instituted a ban on roosters within the city limits. My SIL tried to fight it in court but the judge told her Aurora already had a noise ban in existence between the hours of 8 am to 6 pm so she was breaking the noise ordinance. She butchered her roosters and just has hens for the eggs now.

I would not know but I don't think so, Then I checked on the Internet and you'll have to consider moving here if you love chickens.Maybe you could teach Kitty to herd them, Yes, many people are keeping chickens in Daytona Beach. Backyard chicken keeping is popular in the area, supported by Florida's favorable climate. Residents can find resources and guides to help them start, including local ordinances and tips for beginner

Yes our neighbour has chickens & ducks. I don't mind them so much l quite like to hear them clucking & the ducks the occasional quack. It's one their dogs that has been an absolute nightmare but since my word with them last week twice a day is bearable. In fact the silence is phenominal!
