@ineeddentures My wife watched incredulously while a friend but her dog’s dish in the dishwasher along with all her human dirty dishes and declined offers of cups of coffee in that house thereafter. I suppose though the aversion might be misplaced.

Sorta, I don't use soap for the most part as I've noticed that Roscoe won't eat from his bowl if I do, I suppose he smells something he doesn't like, who knows.

I use disposable dish's for Sheba my cat
that saves me from having to wash them
& she gets a clean dish everyday.

When I was living in the trailer, I had two cats (although one became missing). I had a dishwasher, but I would hand wash the cat bowls.
Now I live with 4 cats in my uncle's old house. He didn't have a dishwasher. So I do wash the cat bowls first and then the other dishes.

We wash food and water bowls at least once a week, sometimes more.

We used to have two cats who were sisters. Sadly, one of them passed away from kidney stones last year, leaving us with just one cat. We always clean her bowl after she eats. First, we wipe the dirty bowl with a paper towel to scrape off any leftover food, and then we rinse it in the sink.

I know some people do it, but I think I’d prefer keeping them separate. Pets are family, but their bowls are still their bowls
