Yummy Braised Pork

There was a lesson I learned very early in life. Waste not, want not. In other words, you use everything and never look a gift horse in the mouth. That's how I do my braises and make my "braise sauces." Last night I made some Bremer Salisbury steaks, and of course, there was gravy leftover. I don't throw it away. I use it. So, that's what's for dinner tonight. Braised pork steaks. Scalloped potatoes. And mixed vegetable. What's going on your dinner table tonight?

That sounds good, I had "antipasto" for dinner, it was too hot to cook.

@porwest - My husband is refusing to eat, I am so exhausted that I am not even in the mood of cooking. Tomorrow I bring him to the ER.

The problem I have is, it's never too hot to eat. lol. On particularly hot days I usually just fire up the grill.

That sounds like a smart way to stretch ingredients. And a tasty one too

@porwest Haha, are you Filipino? That's exactly what we do with sauce bottles too. Every last bit gets used

Braises are a great way to use stuff up. I particularly like using "empty" bottles of dressings or other sauces and rinsing them with water or broth or something else and using that. Always adds a lot of flavor and everything gets used up.

Spaghetti is one of those dishes that never fails to satisfy. I usually make some about once a month or so.

@porwest it was the time to make spaghetti. It is a dish that when I am lazy, is so easy to do

I had a home made pork burger on a potato bread roll. It was delicious. I had never heard of potato bread until @DaddyEvil told me about it a few months ago. Today was the first time I had seen it in our supermarkets …. I had strawberries for dessert.

@porwest it was actually the cheapest of all the minces ….although that’s not why I bought it, but it was a bonus….i hadn’t had it before but I wanted it for a particular recipe ….it was tasty.

A pork burger sounds good. I never buy ground pork, but this might be an excellent idea considering how damn expensive beef is right now.

I will fry a lamb shoulder chop and for the side I have sautéed patty squash. Before that I will have my mom’s cold soup with some fresh buttered black bread.

@lovebuglena Probably not. For me it's the taste. I just don't care for it.

I have never been able to enjoy lamb, except in a gyro. Still all sounds good, though.

For lunch I will have my leftovers from Longhorn Steakhouse; and for dinner I will have my Meals on Wheels lunch from Friday.

Braised pork sounds good. I had leftovers of Mexican baked fish, corn and some muffins I made.

Yummy. I love braised pork. "Adobo" would be our local version of that. As for dinner, I made pechay (pak choy variety) soup with ground pork last night.

Last night we had rice, boiled pork hock soup and slipmouth fish in sour broth. All the viands were cooked by my father.

Politics is part of how I make my living. Besides, I could politic you under the table, and of course I'd accept that challenge. As for Ivanka. Wonka, wonka.

Yeah..it's not good to waste things. I save them for later or probably find another use for them. I don't toss things away
