A Happy Birthday Indeed

Today is my dad’s 71st birthday. I talked to him last night, and he and Diana are going to go somewhere, turn his phone off, and enjoy the day by themselves. He hates attention, and had more than enough last year when my sister threw him a 70th birthday party. He’s hoping to avoid a lot of attention by being gone. Don’t worry, Diana keeps her phone on, so I know I can get ahold of them in an emergency.
My dad can do things that drive me nuts, but I know he’d do anything for me. I mean my medical bills alone almost drove him into bankruptcy. I remember once we went to Tulsa to be with my grandparents. I forgot my migraine medication, and got a really bad migraine. In the middle of the night, my dad drives 2 1/2 hours there, and 2 1/2 hours back just so I could get my medication. He’s got a tough shell, and can drive me nuts, but I’m so thankful.

I am so glad you have such an awesome dad.
He seems like an all around great guy and a day away from everything sounds like a great birthday present for anyone, but especially for someone like him

Happy Birthday to your dad! You’re lucky to have him and for the way he cares. It’s really something to drive back and forth just to get your medications. I think I’m like him too, since I don't want attention for any occasion and would rather stay in my zen zone always.

My Dad meant the world to me too, and I know that yours does to you.
What an amazingly thoughtful way to spend his birthday, alone without his phone one.
I am always thankful that I do not need to worry about my phone for 8 hours of the day while I work.
