My health issues must be slow hummers. Doctor's office called while I was out back gathering raspberries. I called them back and got the gobbledegook and left a message. I thought about it and called the radiology department at the hospital. I have talked with the lady there before. She is straightforward and kind. Wednesday July 15th I am set up for the day. The way she explained it, I will stay calm and do BOTH scans. I go in that morning, endure a needle and then endure the scan. NO second needle stick. The contrast is in me. By noon I should be out of there and I can either sit until 2 pm or go where ever I like. Be back at 2 and endure the hour of lying on a table having a body bone scan. The lady said they would play music if it helps. Hmmmmm. Do they have Celtic folk music? I will do this. I must and I will.

I hope that you have something planned in between the scans, that will help the day pass. And Celtic music, I love your choice, I just question how can you enjoy listening to it without tapping your toes, or are you allowed to move a bit during the scan? I always count, that is what I do, when I have to lie still for tests and such. I count forwards and backwards, and of course I always pray. I will pray for you, and that if you must lie still, that you don't tap your toes to that beautiful music.

@Juliaacv Good question about me not moving during the scan. Bagpipes! And lamenting ballads.....Thank you for the prayers.

That sounds like a good plan, only one stick involved as well. I wonder if they do bone scans differently in different places...I had one a few years back and I was on a padded platform like table thing. It wasn't bad at all. I was surprised. They also told me I could stay dressed, you must remove any jewelry and if you are wearing anything with a zipper, etc. it has to go. Like I said, I was surprised. I am glad you are going to do both tests. I will be praying for you. Take a picture of Rufus with your husband, and take it with you? Maybe that would help.

@MarieCoyle There are two types of bone scans. I will be doing the invasive one where dye travels through me.

I am glad you have an inside source. I hope the scans prove to be educational in your favor, or at least get a program going. I think some slow ballads would be calming. Maybe they will take requests.

I have a couple of 'mantras' that sometimes help in such stressful situations. I keep saying 'I can do this' over and over and also 'this time in an hour or two/tomorrow it will all be over'. Praying that it will all go well.
