I cooked twice today

Bob seems to be better and better. Still not quite as good as before he got sick. So I surprised him.
I did a twist on the Kropsu recipe and added lemon zest, extract and juice and also some raisins. I ate that twice today. It is pretty kidney healthy.
Bob was outside some, but it was awful hot. He took two naps. Talking this evening he said he really wanted a Reuben sandwich. That is not particularly healthy for the kidneys, and would have been a bigger meal than he would have eaten if we had gone to Arby's for one. I had ingredients on hand to make Reuben casserole, and so could use less of the stuff and give him a small portion. He liked it really well and ate more than he has been. I served it with no salt canned green beans seasoned with a no salt spice blend.
All five loads of laundry got dried. Bruno is telling me to go to bed.

He obviously has some time of dementia. Pretty much age related. But when his heart or his kidneys or both act up it really gets worse.

Yes, and really healthier, too. Price was good, as well. We would have spent about $26 on our meals and used two and maybe a half gallons gasoline. I used the last of a loaf of rye bread, a cup of good sauerkraut I had on hand. Dab of pickle relish. Buddig corned beef, so less that $4 for that Thousand Island and mustard on hand. Probably the most costly thing was the Swiss cheese. Maybe $8 total, and we have leftovers for a couple more meals.

It was a good night, thank you. Bruno and Pedro ran a few races after the lights were out.

It still is alarming how much he forgets, but it has only been five days. I will see how he is on day 8. Before he got sick he knew at least when he was confused that he was confused. This is certainly better.

Happy to hear he is doing better. Even unhealthy food can be made healthier at home

Yes, it can. And it still tastes better than hospital food.
