Making Some Plans

Good morning myLotters.
I've been up for a few hours already. I had to go out and pick up some advil as my ankle is swollen from walking too much yesterday in the wrong shoes. It will improve today I'm sure.
Yesterday while we were out and about together in the car, we had the local radio station on. We heard that Bryan Adams new concert tour is coming here to our city next month.
We both enjoy his music, and have seen him here in the city once before.
I went online and bought us some tickets for his coming show in August.
He performed for a huge crowd in Ottawa, including the Carney family, on Canada Day. His new song, 51st State, is hilarious. I watched it on youtube. My hubs watched it live.
We didn't get what would have been our first pick of seats, but we did secure a pair that will be good. Canada Life Place is a very small venue of only 10,000 seats, so pretty much any seat in that small space will do for us. I'm glad that we make that plan, have you seen any live performances lately?

I like that song. I have to wonder if what we read and hear in the media is ever the truth. Recently I've seen way too many articles on the internet that makes me wonder if they are AI generated. Besides, dosen't King Charles III have a say in all that BS? Or is it the Prime Minister, I get confused about all that really.
I saw Pink Floyd live once back in the 1990s and nothing since.

That's so true about border cities @Juliaacv Juarez Mexico is right over the bridge here, in fact many citizens of both countries walk between downtown El Paso to downtown Juarez on a daily basis, many of the people here have familes in Juarez that they visit regularly and some have businesses here but live in Juarez.

@rebelann There used to be a fair number of nurses and hospital workers that commuted to work in hospitals in Michigan, until Mister decided to charge those crossing a $100,000 annually for their crossing pass. That made most of them quit working over there, and caused a surplus of registered workers right in that immediate area, they were forced to consider relocating elsewhere in the country to remain workin gin their field.

We are part of the Commonwealth, but Mark Carney is our Prime Minister, or the leader of our country.
Mark Carney has close ties to the Bank of England, as he served as governor for it for 7 years.
I liked the video the 51st State because it speaks the way that I would speak about this whole thing.
We always did stand side by side, no doubt to those words.
I remember seeing an interview with Toby Keith after he wrote that song to let out his frustrations after 9/11, and this reminds me of a much tamer version of that rant. And it isn't so much a rant as just saying what he was feeling, and I can relate to that.
People who live near the border have a a front row seat for what is going on more than anyone else, unless they own properties in both countries. Otherwise, there is alot of nonsense online, that is what the internet is for to some.
Seeing Pink Floyd would have been an awesome concert.

It has been about 12 years since we last saw a live performance.
I do not know how many more tours Bryan Adams will do, he is getting older too.
I remember having the opportunity to see Sir Elton John perform when he was last in our area, but he was touring with Billy Joel, and I am not a fan of his, so I declined, and I regret not seeing Elton live. I have been a fan of his since my pre-teen years.

@LadyDuck Going to live music concerts has been a very popular thing for my generation to do. We began as teenagers, and the ticket would include the bus fare, as we either went to Detroit, Michigan or to Toronto, either way was at least an hour on the bus.
They no longer have those kind of trips, you must get there on your own steam.

That sounds like it will be great fun. I listened to Bryan Adam’s a lot when I was younger.
I haven’t seen a live performance in awhile. I can’t really afford it, but I don’t think that’s my main problem. I can walk around a venue. But finding parking, and then walking TO the venue has always been my problem.
I look forward to hearing about the concert when you go; just make sure to wear the proper shoes.

There is an underground parking garage about half a block away. We parked there the last time and I would imagine that we will do the same this time around.
There will be street parking all around the venue, but those spots will be gone first.
Speaking of wearing the wrong shoes......yesterday morning it looked like rain, and it had rained during the night, so I put on an old pair of sandals to save my nice new ones from getting dirty, but they do not have enough support and my ankle is throbbing today. I have to throw those shoes out.

The last live show I saw was around 1992 in New Orleans to attend a concert by Sir Paul McCartney.

Haha, he is reportedly going to perform his oldies, including that one, at the concert we're going to.
The new song that he just released a few days ago, on Canada Day, called Not the 51st State, is hilarious if you watch it on youtube. We both laughed, but he made some decent points without being insultive.

Not with anybody of note. I do sometimes stumble into some live music, but they are just local groups.

Just now
We have our names down for two different concerts/shows later in the year. Fiddler on the Roof is touring nationally so we're looking forward to that.
