Would you try this?

One of Cebu's most talked-about street foods is Tuslob Buwa. The name literally means "dip in the bubbles." It's eaten by dipping puso (hanging rice) into a bubbling sauce made with pork liver, brain, and spices. I know that description alone might make some people say, "No, thank you!"But many who have tried it say it's surprisingly rich and flavorful. It's considered a must-try food experience in Cebu. I recently learned there's now a restaurant in Davao City that serves Tuslob Buwa too, so people don't have to travel all the way to Cebu to try it. It's nice to see regional dishes becoming available in other parts of the country. Have you ever tried Tuslob Buwa? If not, would you be brave enough to give it a taste, or is it a definite pass for you? What local dish from your area do visitors find unusual?

Nope! There is rice involved in it, let alone the brains mixed in. Calf brain omelet is considered unusual here and no, I don't eat it, either.

@sol_cee Mom and Dad ate calf brain omelets every time we butchered a calf when I was a kid. They always tried to get us kids to eat some of it but we always left it for them.

Haha, fair enough! It's definitely not a dish for everyone, especially with the brain in the sauce.

@DaddyEvil Sounds like your parents were determined not to waste a single part of the calf

I would try it because I know if other people eat it that it won't kill me. And it is probably quite tasty Also I eat sheep's guts and blood and other stuff so your Buwa would be quite tame

Haha, in that case, Tuslob Buwa would probably be pretty tame for you! You're definitely more adventurous than most when it comes to food

@sol_cee The way I see it is this Where ever I go, if it's good enough for the natives, it's good enough for me

An interesting mix of food items turned into a sauce sounds worth trying if it’s served to me. I enjoy tasting foods that are unfamiliar to me.

That's how I feel too. I'd rather try it once than wonder what it tastes like. You might even discover a new favorite!

I would absolutely give that a try! It sounds like it would be amazing. Is it spicy? I love spicy foods.

@sol_cee I would probably try it with a little spice mixed in, since I like spicy foods. By the way, what does brain taste like?

It can be a little spicy, depending on how it's prepared. Some versions include chili, so you can always ask for it spicier if you like extra heat

I would try it. You don't know if you'd like something until you try it.

NO, I do not believe I would want to try this. May be tripes is not something people from outside our area would enjoy.

I have not tried Tuslob Buwa yet. This is the first time I heard about it although I often go to Cebu. I know Puso but not that it is dipped in that kind of sauce. I love Puso. I always buy them when we go Picknicking at the beach.

I'm not sure if Tuslob Buwa has been around for a long time or if it just became trendy in recent years. It's quite popular now, especially among locals and tourists.
