Off duty firefighter rescues 3 children who were in a lake in Texas

An off duty firefighter was at the right place at the right time on Saturday when a boat that carried nine people that overturned at Alvarado Lake Park in Texas on Saturday.
The name of the off-duty firefighter was not released to the public jumped into the water to rescue three children who were underneath the water.
Two of the three children were not responsive when the firefighter when the firefighter was able to resuscitate two of the children before they were taken to shore by the firefighter.
First responders from Alvardo arrived to assist the off-duty firefighter and take the three children via ambulance to a local hospital where they are expected to make a full recovery thanks to the actions of the off-duty firefighter who is likely to be given a lifesaving award from his superiors in the near future.

Off duty they seem to still be on duty mentally. That firefighter sure should get an award .

I wonder why the boat overturned?
If the children were under the water, maybe they were not wearing life-jackets.
The firefighter did very well to rescue the children, well done indeed.
