Do some people make your head spin?

I’ve talked about how we used to host couch-surfers and also couch-surfed ourselves once or twice. We have kept in touch with a few and one is a German lady who now lives just an hour away. She drives us crazy mostly but she doesn’t have a lot of friends so we seem to be it for the moment which is fine really. I'm just venting a little. Everything is black or white with her. There is no grey or middle ground. She is also very adverse to spending money which is good thing if you’re on your own. But she goes over and over the same problems and asks what we think but then it’s ‘what if this, what if that’ till our heads are spinning. She has bought a house in Mandurah and moved in a few weeks ago. We went down recently and Vince was able to help her with a few small tasks that she couldn’t manage on her own. That’s where I took the photo of the gardenia. Isn’t it just perfect?

Beautiful shot. Some people are just a wee bit off and of course it's people like you they latch onto.

This photo is beautiful and that lady, well, she is German, everything is black or white for them and I know how much Swiss Germans are adverse to spending money.

That really is a gorgeous flower. At least something special came out of your visit for you.

I tend to over-analyze everything…but I don’t impose it on others. I bore/annoy/infuriate myself with it. Glad Vince was able to help her some, too! That is a gorgeous flower.

That's a lovely bloom. You're the lady's calm spot in a worrisome world.

Just now
Our lodger Antonio has a tendency to over-analyse everything, and to look for hidden meanings in the simplest things. For example Little One thought that the word 'compost' written on the lid of our compost bin in the kitchen had faded too much, so she re-wrote it and added a few decorations; he then had to ask whether this was some subtle message that perhaps they had been using the bins incorrectly and it was a passive way of getting the message across... My partner does tend to do this too, which is maddening but not to quite the same degree, thankfully. At our little beginners' music session last week Antonio, who is learning the violin, was trying to analyse a particular new piece of music. After we had our first attempt at playing it he started going on about how, part way through, there was a key change to A minor but it sounded like G major (or something along those lines) and the particular notes that gave these impressions.... The rest of us just stood there thinking 'What is he on about?' I had to tell him to just stop analysing it!

I know people like that. Yes, they make your head spin. I'm glad Vince could help with things she couldn't do herself. The gardenia is beautiful. I'm glad you said the name of the flower.
