Platelets are low again

Ugh. I haven't had bloodwork done but I don't need that to know that the platelet count is down again. Platelets are the parts of the blood that cause blood clots and stop bleeding. My random cuts/scratches bleed like crazy and I have bruises ("spontaneous bruising") on random parts of my body that haven't been hit or whatever.
Most of the top of my right hand is covered in bruising. I have marks on my upper arm that make it look like someone was man-handling me. Bruises on my knees just from kneeling in the pool. My favorites are always the bruises on the arches of my feet. I'd get it if I had kids and stepped on Legos but that is obviously not the case. 
Soooo I ordered a blood supplement and will try to incorporate more iron-rich foods in my diet. Platelets don't necessarily require iron like red blood cells do but that was a recommendation from the hematologist. It certainly can't hurt.
This is exhausting. Literally.

If this doesn’t get better, and what you’re trying doesn’t make a difference, please call your doctor. You were so terribly sick, and we worry it could happen again (yes, we). You’re like me in that you don’t worry about yourself as much as others do, and as I know despite my GPS I could never make it to New Jersey, I’m just going to hope you take care of yourself.
And if I sound annoying with my concern it’s just a consequence of you making me care about you so much.

Bob gets shots that are supposed to stimulate his bone marrow to make more platelets. So far it is not working. I hope your hematologist comes up with some answers.

When platelets are really low you more than likely need a transfusion or two, but I imagine you know that. I am sure you hate going to the doctor as much as I do...but please call and make an appointment. I know you don't want to end up in the ER wondering how you got there because someone found you unconscious. Please do this...as Amber said, we do all care about you and worry about you very much.
