Home business road

There is one road near me that has several people who have home businesses. One is a bakery, one sells eggs One has a farm stand that sells flowers and other products and there might be one more. I almost bought eggs from the egg business one time when they were so high, but I found them for less elsewhere. Some day though I might shop on home business road. Do you have home businesses where you live?

Out in the countryside there are places like that. We used to get our eggs fresh from the farm. We only dealt with 1 farmer, as we trusted him, and appreciated what he fed to his birds because that dictates the taste of the eggs.

I am not that discerning with my eggs, but they have decent prices, and you know they are fresh

@Juliaacv I once worked in a dairy store and part of my job or task I was assigned was egg candling..although of course at that point t in time they were using an electric light. Most of that job was scooping their homemade ice cream though. And that was stressful, because it got quite busy in there

@snowy22315 We raised chickens and sold eggs from the house from as long as I can remember until I was in high school. I remember watching my mother and Grandpa wash them wearing cotton cloth gloves and using steel wool to clean them before putting them on the scale for measurement (size) and weight.

They are more likely to be in more rural areas where there are not so many things around.

I think it is kind of interesting there are a few on the same road..kind of a secondary highway.

There are some businesses here, I don't think many, that are close to downtown. The buildings are several stories...and the owners live above their businesses, which is probably both easy and hard--if you're too close, you work all the time, but yet you don't have to get up and drive as you are already there. I don't know of many. There are a few people who keep chickens here that sell eggs, we have farmers come in that sell produce in season--watermelons, sweet corn, vegetables, etc. I do know one lady who is a gifted seamstress that does sewing and alterations from her home. Can't really think of any others, but I am sure there are some.

I think they are more common in rural areas where people don't have as many options

I think we do, or used to. It's a good way to make money when you can.
