Clock other way going

The photo has nothing to do with the discussion. I took it in the Art Gallery There have been several posts lately about clocks and watches. We had what we called an ‘Irish’ clock once. The numbers went anti-clockwise. After a short time, we had no trouble at all reading it. When someone came to the house, we’d wait for them to say ‘there’s something wrong with your clock’ as they invariably did. We had an old Polish friend whose English wasn’t too good. When he looked at the clock, he said ‘Huh, other way going’. And speaking of things Irish, our son arrives from Ireland tomorrow.

When they said 'there's something wrong with your clock', it was as if we hadn't noticed and they were pointing it out.

We always get amused when people hear our bird clock and start looking around for birds in the kitchen Have a great time with your son!

I had a horse clock but it wasn't very realistic. He's in Hong Kong at the moment. He gets in at 6.50 tomorrow morning.

Well, he could convey his message well with his not so good English...that's the main point of any language . That sounds like an interesting clock and would definitely be weird for first timers. Have a good time with your son. Hope that he is there for long enough.

I hope your son arrives safely and you all have a wonderful visit while he's there. Somebody I used to know had a clock just like that. His lost time and had to be reset about once a month.

@JudyEv I didn't pay much attention to it other than to note it ran backwards.

Ours was battery-operated but I don't remember it losing time.

I've seen a clock like that somewhere. Maybe in a movie or something. Enjoy your time with your son!

I recall those backwards clocks being all the rage way back in the 80s. Never had one myself.
