Do you dream at night?

I do. Doesn't matter if I just fall asleep or if I take melatonin or a prescription sleep medication. Hell even chocolate causes dreams.
I have very vivid dreams. I occasionally shout (which my neighbor has said), my heart races (Apple Watch notes it), and sometimes I just wake up. I should do a dream diary but that's never been a thing for me.
Of course most people don't remember their dreams for more than like 30 minutes. That's why I think I should try a dream diary. From everything I remember it is me working out or stressing out about things with family or work. I have some recurring dreams which apparently is unusual.
The dreams are scary any time I take melatonin. With Seroquel?--forget it. Crazy stuff. I still have crazy dreams even when I haven't taken any meds or supplements. Some of it is totally insane and some is apparently my mind just trying to purge itself from certain thoughts.
It is amazing what my mind can come up with.

I only remember my dreams if someone/something wakes me up while I'm having one. I'm usually asleep when Pretty wakes me up to sign that she's done all the things she's supposed to do around the house for me so she gets paid for the work. When she woke me up yesterday, I was dreaming about a friend who used to come over and play card games or board games with me. He moved away and I still miss him.
Pretty has nightmares every once in a while and starts yelling in her sleep. I go into her room, wake her up, tell her she was yelling in her sleep and tell her to go back to sleep. Usually I don't hear her yelling again for a few weeks.

My watch says I sleep very well, no elevated heart rate or breathing or wrist temperature. The only time that changed, to no surprise, was when I had covid in January…and it wasn’t that drastic. It just flagged it because there’s usually no change at all.
And yes, I dream. I have lovely dreams about my dear mother of blessed memory, and all other kinds of dreams.
