Does your washing machine make funny noises?

Mine sometimes makes a noise like it is sighing. I am not sure what causes that. Also, one time I washed a rag rug in there (not the best idea) some of the rag strands separated and got caught in the machine or something and it was making a squealing sound for awhile. Whatever it was seems to have worked itself out because I haven't heard that for awhile. Anyway, it does seem to do a reliable job washing so I guess I will not worry about the funny noises too much. This machine is fairly new and purchased within the last 5 years so it would be a shame if something happened to it.

I got a new washer about 18 months ago? I think it was about that long. This washer is so quiet I have to remind myself it's even on. I do have it set to beep when it's done, but it is very quiet.

I wish I had a quiet washer. The dishwasher is fairly quiet though. I sometimes have to look to see if it is on

@snowy22315 I had a dishwasher once that sounded like a thrashing machine, but this one is pretty quiet.

My machine is only 18 months old, I hear no noises. My old one in Switzerland lasted 20 years and I cannot remember weird noises.

I don't remember my old one making weird noises either..it was old as well. One day it just stopped draining water out though so of course it needed to be replaced. It was about 20 years old.

We play cards in the clubhouse once a week and the ice-maker there groans, signs, squeaks throughout the night. We often comment on it. My washing machine is pretty much silent.

Mine is always filling dropping ice etc It can be a bit noisy.

Not sure what would cause that. Maybe there are better mechanical minds here that could help with an answer. As for my washing machine, it makes all the noises it is supposed to. lol

It is the strangest thing like it is just washing along and sighs like..so sad I have to work now or something. . However, like I said it does its job so what more can you ask?
