I have to go into work this week

I make it a policy to stay the heck out of that place from the minute I walk out on the last day and the minute I have to show up on the first day of the next school year. There is absolutely nothing that I need to do for the first couple of days even when the kids show up. Well I'm being moved to a new classroom for the upcoming year so I need to get my stuff out of the 2 downstairs rooms that I was floating between. The new building principal told me to go in this week and mark what needed to be moved upstairs by the custodians. There is a lot of stuff--boxes of supplies, textbooks, microscopes, games, pictures, etc. Of course I have a bunch of plants here at the apartment that I want to bring in as well. In any case I'm happy to have my own classroom again so I'll be happy to go in. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice so that will be a pool day but it is supposed to rain on Tuesday so that's when I'll head in. Then they won't see me or the plants until Sept 1st.

I wish you could bring one of the cat crew with you to school. It’s a better way to get rid of the mice than the glue traps. Then again, your crew might not get anywhere near mice. Ah, dreams.

One year I threatened to leave Adso in the room over the weekend. Hell I'll take him and say he is my emotional support animal. hahahaha

@NJChicaa Hey, everyone else gets to have an emotional support animal, why not you?

I wonder if that added stress of not having a classroom last year contributed to your problems. I’m glad you have your own classroom again, and I’m especially glad that you can just put a post-it note on the boxes and don’t have to the move the stuff yourself!

Oh hell no. I'd make the students carry it upstairs if the custodians didn't. We played that game last September bringing everything downstairs. I am happy to be moved to where I'm going. One of my very good friends (the one who gave me Princess Claire Wigglebutt Floofypants) will be right across the hall as well as another science department buddy. They call it "the fun wing" and it really is. Of course I miss my work bestie but I haven't been next to her in many years. I just need peace and less stress. If I have my own space with my own stuff around that will help.

I'm glad you'll have your own room again and hope you have a wonderful school year. We reached 93F here today with a RealFeel of 99F... I missed talking to you this morning. I hope you slept well last night and had a nice day today.

I think it will be so good to have your own classroom and not have to shift back and forth and especially good not to have to deal with the OCD guy.

I am glad you will have your own classroom again, too. Hopefully it won't take too long to mark everything and then you can be on your way again.
