Animal services officer rescues a blind dog who was trapped in a storm drain

A recent thunderstorm in Sugar Land Texas caused a blind female senior dog named Sophie who was trapped inside of a storm drain earlier this week.
Sugar Land Animal Services Officer Matthews went to his rescue mission of searching for Sophie inside of a storm drain openings when he was able to rescue the dog.
Sophie fell into the storm drain when she left her home during the thunderstorm. Sophie is a Maltese was reunited with her owners since she had a microchip on her which was the reason that Sophie came home to be with her owners safe and sound.

My dog wasn't scared of the rain
He used to bark to get out to play
And then he would come in all soaking wet
And had to be towel dried

What nimrod of an owner lets their blind dog out of their house without accompanying on a leash? The dog cannot see where she's going to, Irresponsible but gald the do was rescued,

The dog would have been traumatised, being blind, and trapped like that. It was good the dog was rescued without further incident.
