New Addition to the Family!

Another milestone--a new baby! Some of you knew my oldest daughter was expecting a new baby. She had a high risk pregnancy and ended up with gestational diabetes before she delivered early in July.
Meet Nolan Scott. He was named after his great grandfather on her side of the family and got his middle name from his father. I think they go well together.
She had a smooth delivery with a planned c-section. She has had a c-section with her other two because of lack of dialation, even after being induced so it was more or less a given.
Nolan weighed in at almost 9 lbs, 19 1/2 inches long and very strong. They bring the mom and baby out right past the delivery waiting room and he was lifting his head up to find us saying, "I'm here!!"
He is a good baby and so far only problem has been with silent acid reflux, which my daughter did not want to believe, but found out mama was right after his second doctor appointment.

I have six grands...three of my kids each have two. Five grandsons and one granddaughter. There won't be anymore grandchildren, like you I will hope for great grands someday.
I am a bit jealous...enjoy that baby, Karen!

Baby Nolan says thank you!!
I've been having to take it easy and learn to slow down. New baby had me staying with them for awhile after the baby was born and then I went back again for another few days. I go back to the doctor on Tuesday, so we will see where we go from here.

Babies always look so cute right up until they can walk and talk. 
Then parents want to give them away.

@sallypup Yes, she was so tired this morning when she heard him crying that she told her husband a little rudely for him to "get up and go get him." He told the story like she was giving orders and she doesn't remember any of it!! At least he is very supportive and hands on right now! He has one more week off and then back to work!

They made a deal with each other. My daughter got to choose the first name, with his approval of course and he got to choose the middle name with her approval. We all thought that he would choose a middle name from his step-dad since that was who raised him, but he surprised us with his middle name! Turned out perfect!

your daughter had it tough but i am glad you became a grandmother, congrats. ah, acid reflux, had it a few years ago. very nasty disease.

Nolan is actually my 5th grandchild!! Acid reflux runs in both my family and my husband's so common for him to get it. Both of my twins had it as infants and then it settled down, but returned in elementary school. They couldn't eat most of the cafeteria food, so we packed lunches most of the time.
