Have you met Jimothy?

Surely there has been a post about Jimothy (I don’t know the origin of the name) in Mylot about this, but if so, I haven’t seen it. Jimothy is a raccoon spotted in Seattle neighborhoods that has a spinal malformation. From home security cameras and eye witness accounts, this is a very happy raccoon with no problems getting around or foraging for food. He is a social media star, and people are falling in love. I hope he has a very long and happy life. *Picture is from Facebook

How cute Jimothy is and looks like a nice raccoon. It's amazing how animals adapt. Now that he is so popular I hope people put out food for him,

Oh, they do. And they have been asked to make sure it is raccoon friendly.

I have not heard of Jimothy. Looking at him makes me smile, as long as he is not in pain.

Exactly, once I realized he was a happy, satisfied raccoon I liked seeing pictures and videos. He gets around great!

Aw, poor guy has a bad back. I wonder how that impacts his ability to climb.

They’ve shown footage of him climbing, with no signs of difficulty. I wondered if he showed any distress would wildlife officials try to intervene, but he seems to be a “normal” raccoon. And in the weeks of him going viral, $58,000 has been donated to local animal charities in his name.

I’ve not heard of him…as long as he is happy and healthy and can do everything he wants/needs to do then that’s all that matters I guess ….

Normally, it tends to make people sad because you think that’s going to get the animal hurt in the wild. And no one wants an animal to suffer. This guy doesn’t let differences get in his way, and I think people tend to root for those who are a long shot for success. And to make it even cooler, since Jimothy went viral $58,000 to local animal charities has been donated in Jimothy’s name.

Yes, I read an article about him on MSN or one of those news sources. I was happy to know he is living a good life.
