Where did I put it?

Last time I did a big supermarket shop, I went to buy some chocolate and found that their own-brand chocolate bars (which are what we usually buy for use in cooking and also general nibbling) were half price. So naturally I bought several to keep in stock. But when I got home I knew I couldn’t just put them in the cupboard because my partner would just nibble his way through them! And if I put them in the place where we usually keep our ‘overflow stocks’ he would undoubtedly notice them there sooner or later, when he went to look for a can of beans or something. So I hid them somewhere I knew he would never look, nor have any reason to ever go and accidentally stumble across them. Today I plan to make a chocolate hazelnut and plum cake as all our plums are suddenly ripening. My problem now is – where is that safe place? It’ll be in the last place you look! Since Cadbury’s chocolate is no longer classified as chocolate, due to the replacement of cocoa butter with palm oil, I have looked elsewhere for ‘real’ chocolate bars. Tesco’s own doesn’t have palm oil, so I’ve been buying that for a while. Not only have I been buying it, I’ve been eating it too. Very tasty and cheap, which is a double bonus for me. Have you found it yet?

@Orson_Kart The plan to make the cake is the reason I was looking for it in the first place.

@LadyDuck There's actually not that much chocolate in it, but it tastes very chocolatey. Maybe its the combination with the nuts.

In your zest to hide them from your man you also hid them from yourself it seems.

Now the chocolate bars are really at a secure place, because both your partner and you can't find them.

Oh, no! I hope they turn up before they go bad. That’s pretty funny, but when it happens to me I get so annoyed at myself.

Thank you, it's very good and we can convince ourselves it's healthy because it contains quite a lot of plums and nuts

Hope it is safe wherever it is. Or already eaten despite your best efforts hiding it. But it is not easy to hide that in the first instance.

I often do that myself. With food, with clothes to get them out of the way. Let us know where they turn up.

Isn't this everyone's story at some time or another? We picked up some tablets that Vince had to take before going to the dentist and put them away safely for a few days while we went away. When we came home and it was time to take them, we couldn't find them anywhere. We had to ask the chemist for another issue. After the dental appointment, we found them in the fridge.

I found the chocolate just in time. It was certainly safe from nibblers anyway!
