Do you think you make good decisions?

Do your decisions turn out well, or in retrospect, would you have made different ones? I have realized that the majority of decisions I have made in my life have not been to my advantage, and I could have done much better. I no longer trust myself to make the right decision any more when it comes to major decisions. I have looked at larticles about decision making and ways to approach it, so hopefully I will do better next time. I found this article on decision making which is good. Another thing is before you embark on this is to ask yourself what happens if I do nothing? That is also a valid option and staying the course isn't always the worst thing to do.

I'd have to say I'm 50/50 if you go back years. Some decisions were good while others not so much. But, I think the decisions I make now are better and I don't feel embarrassed to ask someone else for an opinion if I'm hesitant.

You do tend to get a bit wiser as you get older. I was gonna tell you Marilyn, I watched The Bear last night. Seemed kind of interesting..but my attention drifted at points. Of course I didn't know the characters, but I liked the behind the scenes of a fancy restaurant part.

@Marilynda1225 Well, I am watching the last season. If I like it, I will go back and watch the other ones.

This is what I always do, I ask to myself "what happens if I do nothing?".

Usually nothing bad, but is it the best? Probably not, or maybe not. I mean you can always revisit the decision at a later date.

@snowy22315 - Exactly, I try not to procrastinate when I know that I absolutely need to do something, but if I can do nothing, I do.

I think I have made some poor ones over the years. Some leave me with regret. I did not stop working soon enough to spend time with Bob, but I thought we needed the money. I did not know about some other options we had.

My decisions about who I hire to do things like replace water heaters etc are not great plus here in this town almost 70% of plumbers or handymen are cons that overcharge but when there's an emergency for things like getting rid of mold and replacing water heaters there's rarely time to actually get to know a business well enough to know if they are cons.

All you can do is read reviews and or ask around.

I think. Like most people , I would have to say. Sometimes yes and sometimes no. Of course I always try to make the best decision and at the time I guess that’s what I think I am doing ….its only afterwards. That’s when you realise that actually I made a bad call there !

In general, I make good decisions. Now, I made a bad one recently, but I knew it was a bad decision when I made it. There wasn’t any harm done like losing money or someone getting hurt; I just let someone get away with taking advantage of me. And maybe it wasn’t a bad decision, only a decision that will allow me to prevent it from happening next time.

I think that mine are much better now than they were when I am younger. I know my weaknesses much better and try not to put myself into those dangerous situations. It has paid off. I am a shopaholic and I love to shop and buy, and since I've worked on it, my closet has clothes that I use on a regular basis and not alot of extras like it used to.
