I am rather proud of myself

One of the nurses associated with the doctor that I have spoken to twice sent me a nasty message the other day. She didn't like my language. I am proud of my language. I am currently looking for a higher up type person to use my foul mouth on.
Why? I talked to the surgeon. She says she won't do surgery. Since I was in the neighborhood, I drove over to the Docs to make an appointment to discuss other treatment with him. Receptionist said a nurse would have to get back to me to make the appointment. I didn't hear back so I called them back. Answer: Doc is on vacation. You will have to wait until he gets back to make an appointment.
I said what!!?? He had a vacation last week. Yes he did. He has another one this week. No answer again from them on My Chart. I sent the not too nice inquiry. And got a lecture. I'm pleased with me and thinking about figuring who is a supervisor that I can talk to on Monday.

Medical care can be beyond impossible and frustrating. Talking to a supervisor sounds like a great idea. If this doctor works out of/is associated with a hospital, they may give you an idea of who to talk to if you call the hospital. Usually hospitals have people that do that.
They should have another oncologist stepping in for this doctor while he/she is gone. This is just wrong. I know here, as big as the hospital complex is, they are struggling for doctors.

@MarieCoyle There is another doctor there and I mentioned him but the helpers didn't like the idea of him taking over. Yes it is associated with a hospital system.

Everyone has a boss and so do those doctors. My vote is to rat on them for leaving you hanging with basically no place to go and no plan. That in itself is shameful.

I am always astounded by "hurry up and get tested" then hurry up and wait until they can fit you in.

My primary wanted me to get another thyroid biopsy. She actually scheduled it! I called my thyroid doctor to see if he wanted me in office first or ultrasound first. Ultrasound it was and follow up two days later. That was pretty quick and scheduled for next week. Monday I have to call and cancel this other appointment my doctor made at 8;15 in the morning which is no way for me to make it to the next town over and be on time. I also have to reschedule another appointment she made for another test. I was under the understanding that I was to make the appointments. Go figure.

Oh dear
Right Lenore , well done on getting a lecture,
I am proud of you , very proud
But that beggars the obvious question
Why will the surgeon not do the surgery?
I think this is what the really important thing is
If you need a y advice on more foul language words I am sure I can help

@Ineeddentures The idea now is for me to take pills to reduce the growth size. Surgeon said removing lymph nodes leaves me the patient in a very painful recovery period. It's gone to the bones. It isn't just a simple take it out case now. Still- I think I should be getting reliable and quicker treatment.

Ok so surgery is out.
So when will you get the pills?
Because you need to reduce the size of the growth.
I don't think any delay is helpful, in fact it could be the opposite

@Ineeddentures You have come to why I am angry and upset. I am in limbo until the Doc gets off his rear end and goes back to the office and practices medicine again AND his helpers schedule me in.

I'm at a loss as to why a nurse makes appointments and why appointments for after the doctor returns can't be made. This is a very strange medical practice!!

I would be using "language" too. Why in the heck can they not look on the calendar and schedule you in? It's been so hard to find good specialist in WA and why I still travel out of state for most of mine every two months. I hope you get somewhere with this and not have to keep waiting.
