Is it better to buy groceries before or after the holiday?

Hi, guys. It's 38C here or 100.4 F.
We have a public holiday tomorrow, Victory Day or Defender's Day so most people will not work. To me, every holiday feels like Sunday so, when Thursday comes, i have to remind myself it's not Monday.
I was contemplating hard to buy groceris before this holiday and i was going to but heatwave made me unwilling and i felt there will be more crowds before so i decided i'll wait for Thursday or Friday.
I still have some things i can eat but i need some vegetables. in this heat, i am in desperate need of cucumbers and tomatoes. i have carrots but not the same. Will it be more crowdy after the holiday, we'll see but i'll have to dive in then.
What will you do? Go before or after the holiday?

I go whenever I have nothing left. So doesn't really bother me if it's the holiday or not.

@valherma00 Like I said if I have nothing left. If the fridge is empty and it happens to be on a holiday then I am left with no choice. So it wouldn't bother me if it's a holiday or not.
And we have a lot of grocery stores so I can choose one which isn't as crowded.

If you don't"t need anything badly I would wait until afterwards when there bound to be some mark downs.

@snowy22315 it seems so but it feels like the store ordered just a few items or you're right,it's popular.maybe i wasn't aware how popular was it

40C was later, near noon but it was still hot in the early morning. i went 2 days after the holiday and it was much better to breathe.

I think it is wiser to do grocery before the holiday just to avoid the rush.

i went after, but 2 days later and i didn't find my favourite cheese pastry on sale. i hate when they do that. thanks for your opinion!

Only if I desperately needed groceries I'd venture out in the heat, otherwise I'd wait.

i don't liek it before or after but i still went 2 days after the holiday cause, i needed some bread. i can't make my own
i considered ordering online through app but prices are not cheap as in the stores. yes, home and chilling is the best
also, one more holiday this week but it's on saturday, thankfully. i think you celebrate it too, assumption of mary?
