They turn into gremlins

when they drink. During a clinical session yesterday I heard several of the women from the house state that they turn into gremlins when they drink and are drunk. They want to fight people, break stuff, etc. One of the women told me the story of how she wound up here and WOW it is a doozy. 
I thought the description both creative but also accurate for some people. Some individuals are "happy" drunks while others get sloppy and nasty. "Gremlin" seems to be a great description.

I'm not even a drunk but I do drink every day
I'm not a gremlin
I saw the film about them though
I'm never nasty.
Not even when I am drunk which is not often
Yay for me sober

I don't drink anymore but, back when I did, I'd start smiling and laughing at everything happening around me. Once, when I was 21, a friend and I went to a party in a field. I drove and we parked quite a ways from the field gate. Everything went fine until we were reeady to leave. One guy folled my friend out to my car and then slammed the passenger side door closed, catching his fingers in the door. We didn't realize he'd done that until I started the car and he tried to walk away. Then started asking my friend to open the door for a second... He had 4 broken fingers. He kept saying it didn't hurt. He thought he broke one finger.

I have been lucky never to have been around angry or sloppy drunks. I have gotten tipsy at times but mostly at home during a social situation, I have never wanted to look drunk in public,

I recall for years people seemed to describe others as either a happy drunk, or a sad drunk. And yes, gremlin may well be a good term to describe some of them.

We have similar expressions for drunks although not 'gremlins'. Mostly it's happy drunks or nasty drunks.
