Well I won't be seeing the Perseid meteor shower tonight

This facility is in the middle of the woods. I wanted to go outside last night to try to see it but I was exhausted and wound up taking my meds early and going to bed. I figured I'd go outside tonight. Yeah that isn't going to happen. We are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9pm. Even if we don't get storms I'm sure we will have plenty of cloud cover. Oh well. There is always tomorrow. It is supposed to be visible for like another week.

Typical. It’s the same for me. Whenever something spectacular is going to be visible in the sky, it’s cloudy and I see nothing. There is a solar eclipse happening on the 12th, so I am hoping I get to experience that one. It’s supposed to be the best one since 1999. I did manage to experience that and was impressed (for a change).

It's not supposed to be cloudy or foggy outside here tonight. But it is anyway--it's been warm and steamy all day and it should rain or storm a bit in the night, but it's so hazy and thick out there, I can see nothing at all. Maybe it will be more visible on another night.
