Are you being flocked?

Does your area have Flock cameras?
I see quite a few of them here and there. I even see them on interstates, intersections, in quiet residential areas. I live in a very quiet neighborhood, and we have one right down the street from my home. It seems odd...but it's there.
Flock cameras track the cars by license plate readers and make of vehicle. They are supposed to deter crime and any other infractions or whatever. But they are making some people really angry--many feel their privacy is invaded by these cameras, tracking their every move and all of their comings and goings.
They were supposedly installed (with more on the back burner to be installed) to fight crime, etc. I do understand that. But many are so angry. There is a lot of vandalism in certain parts of the US concerning Flock cameras.
There are a lot more examples of people trying to destroy them, but here is just one report--''License plate readers have been shot at in Tennessee, hit with a truck in California, beat with a baseball bat in Virginia, cut down with a saw in Texas and splattered with paint in New York. They've also been regularly blocked by a lone protester in Florida.'' via MSN news.
You may find the article of interest to you. I learned many law enforcement (bad law enforcement, not good ones!) have used them to stalk women. I don't like that at all. But yet they have helped solve many crimes and catch many fugitives...so there's that, too.
I think what it amounts to is people do not like knowing they are being watched.

I get that I should be concerned with my privacy and object on principal. But seeing as I’ve got nothing to hide, and have had crimes committed on my family and me, I don’t mind. I get the reality that the government is overstepping. But it feels like for now, overall, it’s more helpful than harmful.

They put up a couple near me just outside of a school zone. I have never seen anyone speed through there

Our high school is stupidly located next to a state highway that runs north and south through my area. Despite the many signs, patrols, blinking flashers, warnings....people still go too fast through that zone.

We actually do not, our area is rich so they have other camera's and plus one city over while everyone says San Bardnardino is a bit better , they would know what would happen if put obvious camera's in that place. I try to warn people about the sneaky corporate camera's and everyone is like that is fine. Corporate camera's, street camera;s not cool.
I am getting you America. Welfare, we hate welfare but corporate welfare is cool. we hate icamara's but corporate cameras cool to get rid of everyone that hates corporate America.
Do not worry world we are not a fascist country.

You people crazy, you know I love you miss Anna but they talk about slippery slopes, how Nazism started., people get upset at things the silliest of things and if you monitor that closely, people will get so biased and the hatred comes just like Nazi's did with the Jews.
Its a real thing and married people should know this. Come on that was funny.

@crossbones27 - I would be concerned should they do this here, I was not concerned in the very small country that is Monte Carlo. Now that my husband is no more and I am alone, I feel safer if they keep an eye on all those dangerous youngsters in the streets.

I know that basically everything we do is monitored in some way. This is just another way, sort of—but it certainly seems invasive even if it’s solved some crimes. Plus, I didn’t like the idea of some law enforcement personnel using the information to stalk people!!
