To tell you the truth, I’m still not feeling all that well. I have times when I really feel sick, and other times when I feel fine. I’m trying to experiment, seeing if it’s maybe a medication I’m taking. If I don’t take it today and feel better tomorrow, I have a suspicion. I’m not going to let this go much longer. If I’m still queasy after I take my “new” GERD medication tomorrow (a proton pump inhibitor), I’m going to call the GI clinic at the hospital. If I can’t get through to my doctor, I’ll call the urgent care clinic. If I can’t get through to them, then it’ll probably be back to the ER. I’m writing this not so much as to solicit prayers (although they are certainly welcomed and appreciated!) or sympathy, but as sort of an “online diary.” That way, if I start feeling bad again this time next year I have a record of it. This has been a pretty bad time of year for me, with the heat and the colonoscopy. But not all is terrible. Yesterday I went to my uncle’s house down in “the country” as we used to call it (near Elizabethtown, Kentucky, which is near Fort Knox). We had a great time visiting. My cousin had a big meal spread out, but all I ate was watermelon. The most fun I had was watching the hummingbirds. My uncle explained that the ones at the feeders were the migratory birds, and he knew that because they were skittish. The “regular” hummingbirds aren’t so scared when someone is standing near the feeder, taking their picture (like, oh, me… ). The photo is one of many I took while enjoying the pleasant peacefulness.
