I went to Goodreads and it’s showing that I’ve read 28 books so far in 2026.
I’ve actually read 29 bucks but I could not find one book on Goodreads so I could not add it to my reading challenge.
My goal for this year was to read 77 books.
I very much doubt that I will get anywhere near that number.
But it’s okay though.
The important thing is that I’m reading and I’m not forcing it.

I usually try not to read a book before bed because I can fall asleep.

@lovebuglena That helps me get to sleep though, otherwise I toss and turn. So it works for me. Sometimes I read a page, other nights half a book.

I'm sure I've asked you before, but I'll ask again, anyway. What type of books do you like?

@lovebuglena Have you ever heard of the author Patricia Briggs? She has a series called The Mercy Thompson Collection. It's a series about a young lady mechanic who is a shifter: Coyote to human and back again. It's very good. If you get a chance, you might look her up and see what you think.
Currently, I'm reading the 5th novel in the series. (I've read some of them before but am reading the entire series before I reach the new-to-me novels.)

@DaddyEvil this is the first time that I’m hearing of her. I just found her on Goodreads and added her first book as to-read. Will see if maybe it’s at the library.

Poetry and fiction. As far as what novel genres it’s hard to say. I’d read any I guess as long as I find it interesting. I do have favorite authors. Fredrik Backman and Luanne Rice are some. I also love YA fiction, especially novels in verse.

It’s a fun challenge to set a reading goal for the year and try to reach it.

I've been a slacker so far this year and only have read 15 books.
Hope you enjoy the books you're reading and are happy with your goal.

That’s not bad. And you still got almost five months to catch up.

Wow, you've read 29 books already? I've finished only 3 by far. I think I put 8 books in my Goodreads challenge this year. No rush. We should just enjoy reading.

I usually don’t force myself to read, though on occasion I may force myself to finish a book I started.
