I posted yesterday about having to make an appointment to get Moms filters changed in her hearing aids ……
A couple of my lovely friends suggested taking a look on YouTube as there are zillions of videos on there on just about every subject known to man ….and I daresay a few that aren’t !
Anyway, this morning I was up with the lark and got myself onto YouTube …..
Yes, I found exactly what I needed….
Within 5 minutes of watching said video I had changed the filters in the hearing aids…..
I got on the bus asap and headed round to Moms ….obviously they needed charging but apart from that….a job well done.
We phoned the audiologist to say we didn’t need the appointment as we were all sorted …..
So thank you for the suggestion ….it saved us a lot of back and forth and time…..

@AmbiePam ….me too ….i would have done it if necessary of course, but it would have been a bit of a faff ….. ( hope you have remembered what ‘faff’ is …. )…..lol x

That's a great result! YouTube can be incredibly useful for little jobs like this, especially when someone demonstrates exactly what needs to be done. You must have felt quite pleased when you managed to change the filters yourself so quickly. It saved your mum an unnecessary appointment and saved both of you a lot of travelling and time. It's also lovely when advice shared here turns out to be genuinely helpful.

@Traceyjayne It's surprising how many little jobs we can learn to do ourselves with a good video showing us exactly what to do. And there's definitely a sense of achievement when you manage something you thought you might need professional help with. YouTube will probably be your first stop next time something similar comes up!

@mayka123. I will try and remember to look on YouTube in the future ….it certainly saved us a lot of travelling and time …and you are right, it did feel good when I was able to complete the job myself.

While it'strue you can find almost everything on youtube, if you've never done it before it's best to see the professional. Especially since he can check her hearing to see if her script needs adjusting. But, I can understand the whole back and forth thing. It's always a circus to get a blood draw for me because I'm not part of the va, so the all-in-one thing doesn't work. but still even then medical is a real pain in the butt.
