Taco Tuesday!

Tonight my husband wanted tacos for dinner. He is in love with the street tacos they serve at Las Maria's, which is our one and only restaurant in out little town. They have started doing Taco Tuesday with a special on their street tacos.
I was skeptical the first time we went for Taco Tuesday. Street tacos are usually very small and not very filling. But I went along with it and ordered street tacos also. You have a choices of either corn tortillas or flour tortillas and they are both soft. They serve them with two tortillas to each taco, which is more filling but also more calories.
Last time we went my husband got corn tortillas and I got flour tortillas because I thought the corn ones would be hard and I wanted a soft taco. He raved about the corn tortillas and about how flavorful they were. He loved them. So tonight I ordered corn tortillas also.
The street tacos here are stuffed and loaded with meat, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. They are a good 1 to 1/2" in thickness. I can only eat a max of 3 and then I am stuffed after some chips and salsa. My hubby usually gets 6 or more. Tonight he held at 6.
We both enjoyed the meal. The bill was under $20 before tip, so it was a nice meal at a good price. Again, I forgot to get a photo. However, I do have a photo of the menu cover from our previous visit.

Daughter and son in law had to go to Chicago to see his parents unexpectedly. (They are not very well, and 90 years old). He had made a little pot roast the day before and he dropped off what they hadn't eaten so that it wouldn't go to waste, with a few garden items. I took a look at the meat and asked son if he just wanted it warmed up and what did he want with it--he wanted beef hash so that's what I made. He loves the little potato chunks and the carrot slices...he said he really enjoyed it so hey, it worked. No one wastes any type of roast around here, haha!

It's sort of stressful on son in law and daughter, but they don't complain. His parents are simply lovely people...I enjoy being around them but rarely see them since they don't really travel now. Thank you.

I do love a good street taco.
Tonight I had leftover veggie pizza. It was very good, and the veggies were still fresh.

Now I'm jealous!! That is the one thing I miss about working at Girl Boss! I always stopped and got Chinese take out for dinner! There are no good Chinese places that we have found in our area in MS yet! The one I mentioned is in LA and a little over an hour away. We just don't go that way anymore or very often.
