Good morning from my neck of the woods

It's about 7:42 a.m. Cool morning. I woke up around 6 am, power came back around 3am, but didn't last. I've been able to charge my phone above 60%, so I'm grateful for that.
Today, I'll be visiting my stepdad at the hospital before heading to work. He wasn't discharged yesterday, because the doctors want to be sure he's eating properly first. They're keeping him under observation, and I'm really hoping he'll begin eating well so he can finally be discharged.
I'll be spending a good part of the day there, checking on him and hoping for encouraging news. First thing this morning, I checked notifications, read through comments and messages, and responded to as many as I could.
In a few minutes, I'll have breakfast, get ready, and head out.
The weather's still beautifully cool. I'm not sure if the sun will make an appearance today, but I'm not complaining. I actually enjoy this kind of weather. Whether the sun comes out or not, it's a refreshing start to the day.
Life always brings challenges. I've accepted that a long time ago. We can't always control what happens, but we can choose how we respond. I choose to stay positive because I believe there's still light at the end of the tunnel. No matter how difficult today may seem, something beautiful could still be ahead.
I hope you're all doing well wherever you are in your corner of mylot. Have a wonderful day. And thanks for following this journey with me.

Like you, our weather has been gloomy for the past several days and is expected to stay this way for the rest of the week as we experience monsoon rains. On the bright side, one thing I enjoy about this kind of weather is that it makes everything feel much cooler.

It has to be hard to plan around power outages when you have no idea when they will be. Glad you did get your phone charged a bit before it went off again.
It's so good that you choose to be positive. That's what I always choose, too. There are more than enough negative people in the world already!
Hopefully your stepdad will feel up to eating soon. Are they giving him any nutrition thru a tube, or? Still praying he can recover soon and go home with your Mom.

I'm rather surprised they aren't. Do they not do that there? Patients need nutrition to get well.

@MarieCoyle his age is a factor they are considering. If he is still not eating, I guess they will do that

This is a really hopeful post despite the difficult circumstances. I like the way they acknowledge the challenges without letting them take over their outlook. The line about choosing how we respond is especially positive.
