I went shopping in the kitchen cabinets

Apparently there was a house staff meeting today during which they were read the riot act for not getting rid of ALL of the non-organic food in the fridge/freezer/cabinets. The tech here at the women's house said that if we wanted something non-organic we had to hide it in our rooms. She also said that she was throwing out anything non-organic tonight.
Soooooo I just went shopping through the cabinets. I filled a Walmart shopping bag with: protein bars, healthy Oreos, Triscuits, spaghetti, vegetable oil, balsamic vinegar, tomato paste,. . . and that might be it. There is still another case of tomato paste cans that I might grab. Why pay for it when we have it here and they are going to throw it out?
The protein bars and Oreos I will bring to work as snacks for students. I keep a stash of stuff for them for when they (or I) are hungry. The other stuff I use all the time at the apartment.
Score!

I'm glad they warned you that they were going to throw out everything that wasn't organic. I don't see a reason to throw away perfectly good food just because it doesn't fit their idea of "good".

Go get the tomato paste!! It keeps going up in price, and you will make good things with it!

Yep
I would take it too
I don't like perfectly good stuff getting thrown out
Food waste is a crime given the number of people who cannot afford to eat properly
