Brambles , or Blackberries as you might know them

Brambles , or Blackberries as you might know them Oh well moving on from the Raspberries We also have a shed load of Brambles here Especially in our old garden which sadly has become a bit over grown But luckily With Brambles So we have picked a few this afternoon but there were not as many ready as I would have liked So now we have to go to the top garden where it's totally overgrown The help the wildlife initiative lol So I have taken a few pictures And we have already filled one tub of brambles and are now on the second I am covered in scratches already Yvonne on the other hand is not as she is wearing a.long sleeve top We will make Bramble Jelly with the berries It will be good

Well brambles sure aren't for everyone But the Jelly we will produce is lovely You might like it with some nice crusty bread and butter

@Ineeddentures I just don't like the flavor so I likely wouldn't like the jelly. Blackcurrants on the other hand. . . I love me some Ribena.

@NJChicaa Yvonne buys a lot of Ribena In bulk It's strange I like blackcurrant drinks but prefer just adding water to a drink to dilute

Strain after cooking so no seeds get through Yvonne makes wonderful Bramble Jelly

Sounds very tasty..One summer when I was a kid all I did was pick blackberries. I picked so many..We had jelly and pies all winter.

I love brambles, when I was about 8 I was in Germany because dad was stationed there and at the school during recess I could pick some because the plant was overlapping into the recess area, oddly enough I didn't get scratched up that much. Have you thought of getting a pair of long sleeved leather gloves and simply cutting off the finger portions so you can pick the berries without getting too scratched up?

I bet it was really tasty I am hoping our jelly is very tasty too It better be after all the effort picking all the berries I did a post about the actual berries
